FUJITSU FLX2500 TERMINAL MUX (as deployed in JASURAUS) INTRODUCTION The Fujitsu SDH multiplex equipment FLX2500 is used on JASURAUS cable system between Port Hedland (Cooke Point) and Jakarta. The Mux is managed by a SUN SPAC 20 work station running FLEXR Plus software. NETWORK CONFIGURATION Two mux units are used to generate two STM16 traffic streams. The STLE combines the two STM16's, add in overheads and FEC to generate one 5Gb/s optical signal. FUJITSU FLX2500 EQUIPMENT The mux is located in one standard rack with intercabled shelves, one for the High Speed (HS) shelf and four for the Low Speed (LS) shelves. MSP is deployed on the HS interface. Although VC4 cross connecting is available in the this product, it is not used in the JASURAUS installation, hence the VC4 baseband mapping is fixed in the STM16 frame. Above: FLX2500 MUX FLEXR PLUS The FLEXR Plus ™ is a SDH network management software program for monitoring and provisioning the Fujitsu FLX2500. The software runs on a UNIX SUN SPARC work station and uses the TL-1 language over an X.25 interface to the NE's. Two work stations have been provided for the cable system, both complete and capable of stand alone operation. One unit is at the Cooke Point cable station and the other at the GOC.
